Mark Robberds: God of Thunder

Obviously, Mark Robberds isn’t actually the ancient Norse God of Thunder. He is actually quite soft spoken and has a gentle moderate spirit. And, what a wondrously natural baritone… like Sydney Bay sand gravel!

This deep heartbeat of a vagal tone is derived from his pitta-kapha nature, which has allowed him to pursue great Athletic feats. Mark spoke to us about his anger issues as a child and what continues to drive him to succeed in everything he sets his mind to… as well as all the stuff in between. We explored themes around his naturally inquisitive and existential side, which led him to seek out instruction and teachings from many different paths, like a bee collecting honey from many different flowers amalgamating these teachings into a delicious nectar.

Now, as a new father, the energy of the goddess, Devi, rules his life. This new role has challenged any prior sense of consistency, which to his surprise has brought a sense of unexpected joy and freedom from the regimented routine of a “traditional” Ashtanga yoga practice.

We touch upon several historical incidents that reinforced patterns of normative behavior in our global community and how these somewhat dramatic events effected each of our lives.

This conversation is a lively one!

We are exploring issues of psychology, science, physiology, and philosophy.

If you ever wanted to spend two hours sitting down and getting real with the legend that is Mark Robberds… This is your opportunity to dive in and enjoy his charming and electrifying presence.

PLUS… We have a fun game for you to play near the end of the podcast…

Whoever is the first to answer to our trivia winning question, will receive a surprise gift in the mail!

So be sure to listen to the end! ❤️

Mark has been a devoted student of yoga since 1997, and has been fortunate enough to learn from many of the world’s great masters. In 2010 he became one of the few students worldwide to be Certified in the Ashtanga method. Forever a student, he has been expanding his knowledge and skill set since 2014 when he began learning from Ido Portal, which he still continues to this day. He has also been the student of handbalancing masters Miguel Sant'ana and Yuval Ayalon since 2015.

In his teaching he attempts to integrate his own experience with the ancient wisdom of the yoga tradition, the modern day movement approach and latest evidence based science, as a way to help each individual reach their own full potential.

Mark wishes to share the teachings of yoga in a way that inspires people to develop a passion and love for the practice. He incorporates the philosophy of yoga into his music and devotional songs, so that the deeper aspects of the yoga tradition can connect people and bring them closer together.

If you have ever wanted to sit back and chill with Mark, bask in his beatific presence while making snarky remarks, and digging in deep to what our core values really are, this is your day to do it. ❤️
