A Path to Holistic Healing Through Spinal Energetics

This idea is central to the healing practice of Spinal Energetics, a modality we explored in depth on this week’s episode of the Finding Harmony Podcast.

In my conversation with Amanda O’Mara, we delved into the transformative potential of Spinal Energetics and how it allows us to bypass the need to consciously revisit painful memories.

Instead, this practice enables the body to release stored tension and trauma in a way that feels natural and intuitive.

When it comes to Somatic release, we learn that healing doesn’t always require a story.

The Body Keeps the Score

As Amanda shared, Spinal Energetics works directly with the nervous system, the energy field, and the subconscious mind.

By gently guiding the body to move in ways that feel right, this practice taps into the body’s innate wisdom, bypassing the need for intellectual processing.

Have you ever felt a wave of emotion rise during a deep hip stretch or after a long savasana? That’s your body releasing tension and accessing its innate intelligence.

Amanda’s insights reminded me how powerful it can be to trust your body’s natural rhythms. Whether you’re practicing yoga, sitting in meditation, or simply taking a mindful walk, you’re creating space for your body to speak—and for you to listen.

One of the most beautiful aspects of Spinal Energetics is its focus on feeling rather than thinking.

During a session, clients might experience involuntary movements, a wave-like sensation along the spine, or even a sudden release of emotion—crying, laughing, or shaking. These physical responses are the body’s way of completing a process that was once interrupted.

As Amanda explained, this approach helps close what she called a “defense feedback loop” in the nervous system.

Once that loop is closed, the body can return to a state of homeostasis, creating a sense of safety and balance.
