Find Your Inner Strength - Arm Balances & Meditation

 

Handstands begin in the Primary Series!

Leaning to balance on your hands begins right from your very first sun-salutation. If you want to practice handstands, you will want to start building up strength in your arms, back, and abdominal muscles. The foundation for these advanced arm-balancing postures is developed in the Primary Series starting with every Vinyasa (transition between postures).

In this workshop we will explore the elusive “bandhas” and how they will help you to create lightness and lift in your practice. This special workshop will be a guided practice where we move through the postures of Primary Series and some of the poses found in Intermediate Series.

Take an in depth look at how to develop the strength you need for arm balances, starting right from the first Sun Salutation. Learn how to perfect your jump back and jump through, with additional supplementary exercises.

Following the physical asana class we will spend time discussing and exploring different mindfulness practices and we will end with a guided meditation.

This workshop is good for ALL Levels as we will look at the foundational elements of handstands and also spend time on exploring different meditation practices.
