Ayurveda, the ancient system of traditional Indian medicine, emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with nature and understanding your unique constitution (prakriti) to increase your body's ability to naturally come into a state of balance and optimal health.

Today, on the Finding Harmony Podcast, we're exploring the connection between hormonal health and skincare!

Hormonal imbalances, caused by autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto's thyroiditis and PCOS, can manifest in various skin issues, including acne, eczema, and dryness. Most doctors simply treat the symptoms, but don't get to the root of the problem. This is where Ayurveda can offer a different perspective.

After years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Brandy Searcy decided to use all her scientific knowledge to create her own organic skincare line, Rain Organica, which would incorporate both Ayurvedic principles and modern science.

"I vowed to stop treating my skin like a canvas to wage war on and start treating it like an organ to be loved." - Brandy Searcy ❤️

Today, Brandy's sharing with us her very personal journey, which started out as a research scientist turned Ayurvedic skincare entrepreneur, sharing her struggle with Hashimoto's - experiencing chronic UTIs, and acne - and how she took back control by doing her own research and following an alternative roadmap -- the clues of Ayurvedic medicine.

Ayurveda offers a holistic framework for wellness, emphasizing the importance of creating balance and harmony, determined by both internal and external factors.

Whether you're dealing with hormonal imbalances, skin issues, or just looking to improve your overall well-being, incorporating Ayurvedic principles into your routine can be incredibly beneficial. It's another incredible gift (a sister science to yoga) from India!
