Fundamentals

This is the first in a series of videos. This practice contains the fundamental asanas based on the Primary Series of the Ashtanga Yoga founded by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications are provided. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels.


Hip Opening

This second practice contains several postures that will work to open your hips in different ways. The standing postures are based on the Primary Series of the Ashtanga Yoga founded by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications are provided. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels.


Gentle Backbending Practice

This practice contains the the basic back-bending sequence, modified from the Second Series of the Ashtanga Yoga sequence founded by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications are provided. A practice of Nadi Shodhana, or Alternate Nostril Breathing is taught at the end. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels.


Modified Primary Series

This fourth practice contains a modified Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, as sequenced by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications for beginners are provided. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels and is considered by many to be a superior form of "Yoga Therapy."


Restorative Yoga

This fifth practice is a restorative yoga class, followed by a guided alternate nostril breathing pranayama and loving kindness meditation. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels and is a deeply relaxing form of "Yoga Therapy." It is a yoga practice that is both nurturing and rejuvenating. It is good for all levels, and students will also benefit form the meditation at the end.


Fundamentals 2

This sixth practice is similar to the first practice, as it contains the fundamental asanas based on the Primary Series of the Ashtanga Yoga founded by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. We focus more on the shoulder-stand and headstand at the end of the sequence. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications are provided. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels.


Hip Opening 2

This seventh practice contains different types of postures that are focused on creating more opening and release in the hip area. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour, and modifications for beginners are provided. This practice is beneficial for students of all levels.


Restorative Yoga 2

This is the final video in this Healing Yoga Practices Series. This final practice is again a restorative asana practice followed by pranayama and meditation. The practice has been adapted to fit into one hour. It is a very gentle practice and is beneficial for students of all levels.
