Welcome to the 36th week of the year! We are delighted to introduce you to our dear friend Krista Shirley. Currently residing in Orlando, Florida, Russell met her years ago, while recruiting teachers for the Jois Foundation. Harmony insists she knew her first (and evidently all our friends knew Harmony first and better!) - LOL.

It was once said of Krista, “You know, if she ran this organization, she would do a better job than all us… and we founded it.” Nothing could be more true.

Needless to say, Krista is really is special. She is a voracious learner and she takes this infectious energy, AAA-type personality, to her whole life, business, motherhood, and Ashtanga yoga practice. If it can be said of anyone, it has never been more true when it comes to Krista: She embodies the energy of Wonder Woman.

It’s always a shock for a lady like this to be confronted with a truly obliterating obstacle. After recovering from a complicated divorce, Krista incurred a debilitating should injury. She tried many therapeutic interventions, nothing worked. She couldn’t lift her arm. Which means, for a person who wants to be Certified in Ashtanga Yoga, that in a sense, your whole identity is has been stripped away from you. Erased. Gone.

Krista went through a series of seven surgeries in the time span of a year, which left her paralyzed by pain, and completely without any ability to practice the physical aspect of yoga.

And so… What does one have left after that? Who are you? What are you? What’s next?

In this episode, Krista answers all these questions and we find out so much more!

We are so grateful she spent this time with us and we know your time will be well spent this morning with her as well.
