Unlocking Soulful Success: East Meets West in Spiritual Strategies

with Anita Rombough

In a time when we're being inundated with messages and images telling us how we're supposed to act, what we should look like, and how we're supposed to feel, finding our own authentic self can be tricky.

This can become especially confusing when we're making changes in our lives!

As a women, I've often struggled with my own internalized pressure to be everything to everyone — a perfect mother, successful professional, devoted student, loving partner…  and this constant striving to meet impossible expectations only feeds into an old pattern of “I'm not doing enough, so… I must not be enough.”

Ever felt that way?

Whenever I've caught myself chasing after other people's perfect lives, trying be good at everything, I've also noticed a sense of becoming fragmented and out of alignment.

In today's Finding Harmony Podcast episode, Anita shares her personal experience of straddling two worlds: the Western world that she was raised in (where she was driven by success and achievement) and her Eastern spiritual roots (which called her to connect to a deeper, more soulful existence)

Learning to integrate these two aspects of herself was the moment she began to experience soulful success. This integration required her to confront and release the limiting beliefs and societal expectations holding her back.

Anita's story is something that every yoga practitioner living in the Western world can relate to!

Authenticity is about being true to yourself and living in a way that’s aligned with your highest vision and dream.

Here are a few practical steps to help you access your own authenticity:

  1. Self-Reflection: Begin by setting aside time for regular self-reflection. Journaling can be a powerful tool for this. Write about your values, your dreams, and the things that make you feel alive. This practice will help you connect with your true self and gain clarity on what authenticity means for you.

  2. Set Boundaries: Being authentic often means saying no to things that do not align with your values and yes to the things that do. Setting boundaries is essential for protecting your energy and maintaining alignment with your true self.

  3. Seek Support: Surround yourself with people who support and encourage your authentic self. This might mean finding a coachjoining a community of like-minded individuals, or simply spending more time with friends and family who accept you for who you are.

  4. Practice Self-Compassion: The journey to authenticity can be challenging, and you may encounter setbacks along the way. Remind yourself that you are doing the best you can. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small.

  5. Live Your Values: Make a conscious effort to align your actions with your values. This might mean making changes in your career, your relationships, or your daily habits.

Living in alignment means shedding the masks we wear to fit into societal norms and embracing our true selves, unapologetically and fully. It starts with knowing what your your values are, setting boundaries, and making choices that feel good!

The journey to authenticity always begins with self-awareness.

Understanding who you are — at your core.

These questions are not always easy to answer, especially in a world that's constantly tells us who we should be. But, when we start to tap into what it means for us to live authentically, we open ourselves up to more joy, fulfillment, and abundance.

This is my wish for you today. It's a journey that requires courage, self-compassion, and a willingness to embrace not only your brilliance, but also your shadow.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Authenticity: Discovering and living true to oneself is the first step toward achieving soulful success.

  2. Alignment: Staying aligned with your values and vision is crucial for personal and professional fulfillment.

  3. Abundance: Cultivating an abundance mindset helps attract growth and prosperity in all areas of life.

  4. Practical Tools: Meditation, breathwork, and journaling are essential practices for connecting with higher consciousness and maintaining high energy levels.

  5. Co-Creation: Collaborating with the universe and setting clear intentions can help manifest your deepest desires.
